After having served a 48-day jail term for drunken driving and violating probation, actor Keifer Sutherland was released from a Southern California jail on Monday. The 41-year-old star spent his birthday, Christmas and New Year?behind the bars.
The star of the hit television series 24 was also sentenced to five years probation, and has to complete an 18-month alcohol education programme and attend weekly therapy sessions for three months.
Sutherland was jailed for 30 days for drunken driving and 18 days for violating probation stemming from a 2004 drunk driving case. Sutherland has acted in more than fifty films including The Lost Boys, A Few Good Men, Young Guns, The Dark City and The Vanishing.
