The production of the Heath Ledger starrer, Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, has come to a halt following the sudden death of the actor in his Manhattan apartment on Tuesday. The movie, directed by Terry Gilliam, had finished its shooting schedule at London and was expected to begin its production in Canada at Vancouver?s Bridge Studios soon.
The Australian actor was nominated for an Academy award for his performance as a gay cowboy in the 2005 movie, Brokeback Mountain. He made his debut into films with the romantic comedy, 10 Things I Hate About You. He later appeared in A Knight?s Tale, Monster?s Ball, Lord?s of Dogtown and Casanova.
His next film, The Dark Knight, the sequel to Batman Begins, is slated for release on July, 18, in which he plays a villain, the Joker.
