Rohit Shetty is set on making the remake of ‘Singham’ which had been a huge hit down South. He has already finalized Ajay Devgan for the male lead and wanted Anushka Shetty to play Ajay’s love interest because she was in the original film with Sooriya.

However, when Anushka was offered the film, she reportedly demanded Rs 1.5 crore. Not to mention here that Rohit did not entertain her high demands and she had to let go this golden opportunity for a break in Bollywood.

Anushka has now been replaced by Kajal Agarwal, a popular name in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada who gathered a huge fan following after her performance as Yuvarani Mitravinda Devi in Magadheera.

No wonder Rohit is all praises for his new heroine and says, “She is very popular down south. She has done Magadheera, one of the biggest Telegu hits of all time. We are confident about her pulling off the role successfully.”

The drama and spice cannot just be ignored when item girl Rakhi Sawant and Pakistani star, sexy Veena Malik come on screen. So, they were obvious choices when India TV chose 12 contestants for their unique show, ‘Big Toss’ to cash in on the World Cup Fever. The show will be shown only when India is playing. It will have 12 contestants divided into two groups. Each group will choose its favourite player from the Indian team and bet on him. The group that scores the maximum points will be declared the winner of a Honda car.

“Both of them can add a lot of drama to the show and people are interested in watching them on small screen,” explained Hemant Sharma, news editor of India TV, for choosing Rakhi and Veena for the show.

Sharma also explained why he came up with this idea of a show. “Usually, during the World Cup matches, all the news channels organize discussions with four or five experts in the studio. This concept doesn’t excite people anymore. We wanted to do something different so we zeroed in on this concept,” Sharma told.

Apart from Rakhi and Veena, the list of contestants includes cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh, singers Shankar Sawhney and Ashok Masti, beautician Sylvie and RJ Simran, among others.

Salman Khan performs a daring stunt for Mountain Dew

‘Dabangg’ star Salman Khan recently proved that he is indeed ‘Dabangg’ when he performed a daredevil stunt in PepsiCo`s new Mountain Dew ad, thus proving that he was indeed the apt celebrity choice by the brand. He jumped off from 10,000 feet in a “wingsuit” from which a parachute springs open. The 45-second TV commercial will air from Friday and a 60-second commercial will be shown in theatres.

“Everyone is afraid of something or the other at some point of his or her life. But if you try to run away from fear, you`d be tired and eventually fear will win. So the best way to overcome fear is to face it, run through it because `Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai`,” Salman said in a statement.

Alpana Titus, category marketing director (flavoured carbonated drinks), PepsiCo India Beverages, says, “Salman has jumped from a mountain which was 10,000 feet high. He did have jitters initially but was confident it would work out well and he would be able to overcome his fears in turn,” she said.

“Salman was our first choice because he embodies our (Mountain Dew`s) tagline `Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai` accurately and he also has a nationwide fan following. People in not only the metros but also the remote areas follow him,” she added.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is a man on a mission these days. An industry source reveals that Sajid is all set to roll his next Hindi film, Kambakth Ishq, to be directed by newbie Sabir Khan in Los Angeles in May.

Apparently, the producer has a few surprises up his sleeve. Says our source, "Sajid has managed a casting coup in Kambakth Ishq. Apparently Arnold Schwarzenegger no less has agreed to play an interesting cameo in the film. And that is not all. Pop Sensation Beyonce is all set to do a bootylicious act in the film. The film stars the super hit pair of Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor."

"Akshay plays a Hollywood stuntman in the film and hence the presence of Arnold. Our desi action hero will be seen with the international action icon. Beyonce too is reportedly doing a sizzling act in the film. Everything is almost finalized."

According to reports, Britney tried to kill herself and has now been taken to UCLA Medical Center under a 5150 welfare hold.

Unlike last time, this time a seemingly cooperative Britney was whisked away to the hospital in a motorcade of emergency vehicles that stretched longer than a football field. Britney?s parents, Sam Lutfi,?boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and friend Alli Sims joined the singer at the UCLA Medical Center.

Her hospitalization follows a disturbing day that saw Britney up and active in the wee hours of the morning. According to a family member, Britney was ?on a manic high?; she had been up all night and didn?t sleep for the last 2 hours. Later in the afternoon, Britney met Adnan and was seen driving around Hollywood in a daze, seemingly half-asleep at the wheel, with her eyes buckling under their own weight.

After having served a 48-day jail term for drunken driving and violating probation, actor Keifer Sutherland was released from a Southern California jail on Monday. The 41-year-old star spent his birthday, Christmas and New Year?behind the bars.

The star of the hit television series 24 was also sentenced to five years probation, and has to complete an 18-month alcohol education programme and attend weekly therapy sessions for three months.

Sutherland was jailed for 30 days for drunken driving and 18 days for violating probation stemming from a 2004 drunk driving case. Sutherland has acted in more than fifty films including The Lost Boys, A Few Good Men, Young Guns, The Dark City and The Vanishing.

Actress Lindsay Lohan has started writing her autobiography in a desperate bid to raise some funds. According to reports, Lohan has been facing financial crisis after having spent around $7 million on drugs, alcohol and rehab.

Spears? visitation rights to see her sons was suspended earlier this month following her refusal to give her sons back to her ex-husband Kevin Federline after a scheduled visit. The troubled pop star, who?was supposed to be present for a court custody hearing on January 14,?arrived fours hours late at the Los Angeles Superior Court and returned?without entering the courthouse. The Los Angeles Commissioner then ruled that the 26-year-old singer will have to wait to fight the custody battle until the next court hearing.

But again, she did not enter the courtroom on January 23, while Kevin Federline was in the courtroom in time.

Believe it or not, Heath Ledger had become a regular addict of cocaine and heroin in the past year and often got so high on drugs that his exasperated girl friend Michelle Williams was forced to throw him out of their Brooklyn home!

A recent report said that Michelle could?nt take it any more. Heath reportedly would not show up for two to three days and all of a sudden, he would show up on her doorstep, an absolute wreck. The report says that Heath was partying and doing drugs that Michelle didn?t like. She was even against the?company he was keeping and gave him an ultimatum. Michelle threatened to get custody of their?child Matilda. Although Heath wanted to make it work, he was so addicted that nothing worked.

Michelle said that Heath was hanging around with a bad crowd and wasn?t cleaning up his act. He was making absolutely no effort to give up heroin. He wasn?t sleeping or communicating with anyone either. It may be mentioned here that Ledger?s lifeless body was found in his Broome Street house?with six types of prescription pills. Authorities believe he overdosed, although the cause of death won?t be made official until toxicology tests are finished.

The ?Toxic? singer, who hasn?t seen her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James for more than three weeks after she refused to return them to her former husband Kevin Federline, is barred from visiting her children indefinitely. However, the good thing for Britney is that she has access to them through phone calls. According to documents released by the court recently, Spears is to have telephonic contact with her minor children, while all other previous orders remain in full force and effect.

Britney?s manager and close friend Sam Lufti, with whom she has had a tiff lately, has confirmed that the 26-year old singer has seen a psychiatrist for her ?mental issues?. According to Lufti, Britney is suffering from mental issues which are treatable. He said that she has been to a psychiatrist and that she is starting some kind of treatment. He added that Britney has been having mood swings and suffering from insomnia (having trouble sleeping.

The pop singer is also in touch with her mother, who is?very supportive of whatever Britney is going to do. The ?Piece of Me? singer is believed to be bipolar and reportedly, has multiple personality disorder.

Her legal team is hoping her visitation rights will be reinstated if she undergoes psychiatric treatment and responds to the same.
